Leptospermum scoparium ‘Snow Flurry’ is a compact evergreen New Zealand tea tree with fine aromatic foliage and a profusion of small white flowers. The blooms appear in late spring and early summer, creating a snowy effect over the dense twiggy framework. Plants generally form a rounded shrub around 1 to 1.5 metres high and wide. Grow in full sun in acidic to neutral soil with excellent drainage. It tolerates coastal exposure and dry summer conditions once established but does not perform well in heavy, saturated winter soil. In Ireland, choose a warm sheltered location or grow in a container where protection can be provided during severe frost. Prune lightly after flowering to maintain density and remove damaged shoots without cutting deeply into old wood.
