Lathyrus latifolius ‘White Pearl’ Description

Lathyrus latifolius ‘White Pearl’ is a perennial sweet pea with vigorous climbing stems, grey-green foliage and clusters of clear white pea-shaped flowers from early to late summer. Tendrils allow the stems to climb through supports and established plants can reach around 1.8 to 2.5 metres high. Grow in full sun in fertile, well-drained soil with regular moisture during establishment. It is fully hardy and dies back completely during winter, returning from the roots each spring. The long flowering period makes it useful for fences, arches and informal banks, although the flowers are not notably fragrant. Deadheading encourages continued flowering and reduces unwanted seedlings. The seeds and other plant parts are not edible and should be kept away from children and pets.
