Lamium maculatum ‘White Nancy’ Description

Lamium maculatum ‘White Nancy’ is a low, spreading perennial with heart-shaped leaves that are almost entirely silver, outlined by a narrow dark green margin. Whorls of pure white flowers appear from spring into early summer and may continue intermittently later in the season. Plants generally reach around 15 to 20cm high and spread 30 to 45cm or more. Grow in partial shade or shade in moderately fertile, well-drained soil. It tolerates some dry shade once established, making it useful beneath deciduous shrubs and along woodland edges. The pale foliage can scorch in strong hot sun. It is fully hardy and dependable in Ireland. Trim back straggling or tired stems after flowering to encourage a fresh, compact carpet.
