Kniphofia ‘Moonstone’

Kniphofia ‘Moonstone’ Description

Kniphofia ‘Moonstone’ is a clump-forming perennial with arching green foliage and large, full flower spikes carried on upright stems. The tubular blooms open in pale reddish yellow tones and gradually fade towards creamy white, giving the mature spike a soft, luminous appearance. Flowering occurs mainly in summer, with mature plants reaching around 1 to 1.2 metres high and spreading 50 to 70cm. Grow in full sun or light partial shade in fertile soil that remains moist but drains freely. A sheltered position helps protect the tall flower spikes from strong wind. It is hardy, but the crown dislikes saturated winter ground. Remove spent flowering stems and tidy old foliage in mid-spring as fresh shoots begin to develop.
