Kniphofia ‘Amazing Fun’ Description

Kniphofia ‘Amazing Fun’ is an upright, clump-forming perennial with narrow arching leaves and distinctive two-tone flower spikes. Dark orange to red tubular flowers open towards the top of each spike, while older flowers at the base fade to pale yellow or almost white. The display continues from summer into autumn and provides nectar for visiting insects. Mature plants reach around 70cm high in flower. Grow in full sun or light partial shade in fertile soil that remains moist but drains freely. It is reasonably hardy, but persistent winter wet around the crown can cause losses, making good drainage particularly important in Irish gardens. Remove finished flower stems and tidy old foliage in spring rather than cutting healthy leaves back before winter.
