Juniperus scopulorum ‘Moonglow’ Description

Juniperus scopulorum ‘Moonglow’ is an upright evergreen conifer with dense branching and luminous silver-blue to blue-grey foliage. The broad pyramidal habit is fuller than very narrow cultivars such as ‘Blue Arrow’, making it suitable as a specimen or for informal evergreen screening. Mature plants can eventually reach around 4 to 6 metres high and 1.5 to 2.5 metres wide. Grow in full sun for the strongest blue colouring in almost any well-drained soil. It is highly cold tolerant and withstands dry conditions once established. Avoid persistently wet ground, which can cause root problems, particularly through winter. Little pruning is necessary, as the plant develops an attractive symmetrical outline naturally. Allow enough room from the outset rather than attempting to keep it permanently narrow.
