Juniperus scopulorum ‘Blue Arrow’ Description

Juniperus scopulorum ‘Blue Arrow’ is a strongly columnar evergreen conifer with dense, upright branches covered in blue to steel-blue scale-like foliage. Its very narrow habit makes it useful where vertical structure is needed but planting space is restricted. Mature plants generally reach around 4 to 5 metres high while often remaining around 50 to 80cm wide. Grow in full sun in almost any well-drained soil. It tolerates drought, wind and coastal exposure once established and is fully hardy. Avoid heavy ground that remains saturated during winter. The natural shape is tight enough that routine pruning is unnecessary. Remove only damaged or misplaced shoots, taking care not to cut deeply into old bare wood, which may not regenerate readily.
