Jasminum nudiflorum Description

Jasminum nudiflorum, winter jasmine, is a hardy deciduous wall shrub with long, slender green stems and small divided leaves. Bright yellow, unscented flowers appear directly on the bare stems from winter into early spring, often continuing through mild spells when little else is flowering. Mature plants can reach around 2.5 to 3 metres high when trained against a wall. The stems do not cling or twine naturally, so tie them to wires or trellis as they grow. Plant in full sun or partial shade in almost any fertile, well-drained soil. It is very dependable in Irish gardens. Prune immediately after flowering, cutting back flowered side shoots and removing some older stems at the base to maintain a tidy framework.
