Iris germanica ‘Lovely Again’ Description

Iris germanica ‘Lovely Again’ is a bearded iris selected for both its early-summer flowers and its tendency to rebloom under favourable conditions. Upright flower stems rise above fans of sword-shaped green foliage, creating a traditional cottage-garden display. A second flush may develop later in summer or autumn after good growth, although repeat flowering is not guaranteed every year in Ireland. Grow in full sun in fertile, neutral to slightly alkaline soil with excellent drainage. Set the rhizomes shallowly so their upper surfaces remain exposed to sunlight, and avoid heavy mulch or overcrowding by neighbouring plants. Remove finished flower stalks and divide mature clumps every few years after the main flowering period to maintain vigour and encourage future blooms.
