Iberis sempervirens ‘Snowflake’ Description

Iberis sempervirens ‘Snowflake’ forms a compact evergreen mound with narrow, glossy dark green leaves. Large clusters of small white flowers appear in spring and often cover most of the foliage, making it particularly effective along path edges, in rock gardens and over low retaining walls. Mature plants generally reach around 20 to 30cm high and spread 40 to 50cm. Grow in full sun in neutral to alkaline soil with excellent drainage. Once established it tolerates dry ground and coastal exposure reasonably well, but prolonged winter saturation should be avoided. Lightly trim immediately after flowering to keep the plant dense and encourage new leafy shoots. Older woody centres can be difficult to rejuvenate if plants are neglected for many years.
