Hydrangea serrata ‘Frozen Smoothie Pink’ Description

Hydrangea serrata ‘Frozen Smoothie Pink’ is a compact repeat-flowering mountain hydrangea with finely toothed green foliage and a dense rounded habit. Flat flower heads are produced along the stems over an extended period, appearing pink in neutral soil and shifting towards lavender-blue in acidic conditions. The leaves develop attractive red colouring in autumn. Mature plants generally remain around 70 to 80cm high and wide, making this cultivar particularly useful for patio containers and border fronts. Grow in partial shade in fertile, humus-rich soil that remains consistently moist but drains freely. It is very hardy and suits Irish conditions well. Regular watering is important in pots. Prune lightly in spring, removing only dead wood and faded flower heads.
