Hydrangea macrophylla ‘Forever & Ever Purple’ Description

Hydrangea macrophylla ‘Forever & Ever Purple’ is a compact repeat-flowering hydrangea with dense rounded flower heads in violet and deep purple shades. The blooms can develop pinker tones in alkaline soil, while acidic conditions support stronger purple-blue colouring. Plants generally reach around 80cm to 1 metre high and wide. Flowering occurs on both older and newly produced stems, extending the display through summer and improving performance after winter or late-frost damage. Grow in partial shade or gentle morning sun in fertile, humus-rich soil that remains consistently moist but drains freely. It is well suited to Irish containers and sheltered borders. Prune minimally in spring, removing only dead stems and faded flower heads.
