Hydrangea arborescens ‘Candybelle Bubblegum’

Hydrangea arborescens ‘Candybelle Bubblegum’ Description

Hydrangea arborescens ‘Candybelle Bubblegum’ is a compact smooth hydrangea with sturdy stems and large rounded flower heads in soft bubblegum pink. The blooms appear from early or midsummer into autumn above fresh green foliage and can be used for cutting or drying. Mature plants generally reach around 80cm to 1 metre high and wide, making this cultivar easier to accommodate than many traditional arborescens types. Grow in partial shade or gentle sun in fertile, humus-rich soil that remains consistently moist but drains freely. It is fully hardy and reliable in Ireland. Flowers develop on new season’s growth, so prune in late winter or early spring by shortening the stems to a strong framework. Water generously during dry weather, particularly when grown in containers.
