Heuchera ‘Palace Purple’ Description

Heuchera ‘Palace Purple’ is a long-established foliage perennial producing broad, lobed leaves in dark bronze, purple and greenish-purple shades. Slender branching stems of tiny cream to pale pink flowers rise above the foliage from late spring into summer and attract small pollinating insects. Plants generally reach around 30 to 45cm high in leaf and spread 40 to 50cm. Grow in full sun or partial shade in fertile soil that remains moisture-retentive but drains freely. Stronger light encourages darker foliage, provided the roots do not dry out. It is very hardy and dependable in Ireland. Remove damaged older leaves in spring and divide or replant ageing clumps if their crowns become woody and rise noticeably above the surrounding soil.
