Gillenia trifoliata
Bowman's Root
Gillenia trifoliata, or bowman’s root, is a tall bushy perennial with airy sprays of starry white flowers from late spring into summer. Its red stems and bronze-green leaves bring colour through the season, turning orange in autumn. Medium to large in size and upright in habit, it works well in borders or woodland-style planting. Holder of the RHS Award of Garden Merit, pest- and disease-free, it is a graceful perennial for Irish gardens.
