Geranium ‘Stormy Night’ Description

Geranium ‘Stormy Night’ is a compact clump-forming perennial distinguished by its dark foliage and richly coloured flowers. Deeply divided leaves emerge with bronze or purple tones and form a neat mound beneath violet-purple blooms, each marked by a paler centre and fine dark veining. Flowering begins in late spring and can continue through summer when spent stems are removed. Plants generally reach around 30 to 40cm high and suit border fronts, path edges and large patio containers. Grow in full sun or partial shade in fertile, humus-rich soil that remains moist but drains freely. It is hardy in Ireland. Cut back faded flowers and untidy foliage after the main display to encourage fresh leaves and a possible later flush.
