Geranium sanguineum ‘Frivolius Pink’ Description

Geranium sanguineum ‘Frivolius Pink’ is a compact, spreading hardy geranium with deeply cut green leaves and clear pink, saucer-shaped flowers. The blooms are carried freely above the foliage from late spring through summer and attract bees and other pollinating insects. Plants generally reach around 20 to 30cm high and gradually form a broad, weed-suppressing mound. Grow in full sun or light partial shade in moderately fertile soil with good drainage. It tolerates drought and exposed conditions once established, making it useful for banks, gravel gardens and border edges. The foliage often develops red or bronze colouring in autumn. Shear back tired growth after the main flowering period to encourage fresh leaves and keep the plant compact.
