Geranium riversleaianum ‘Mavis Simpson’ Description

Geranium × riversleaianum ‘Mavis Simpson’ is a low, spreading hardy geranium with trailing stems and softly hairy, deeply divided grey-green leaves. Rounded shell-pink flowers, marked by deeper veins and pale centres, are produced over an exceptionally long period from early summer until autumn. The foliage remains around 15 to 20cm high, while established plants can spread 60cm or more. Grow in full sun or light partial shade in moderately fertile, freely draining soil. It is useful for softening path edges, covering banks and spilling over raised beds or low walls. Avoid heavy waterlogged ground, particularly through winter. Trim back long or untidy stems after the first flowering flush to encourage compact new growth and further blooms.
