Fuchsia ‘Dark Eyes’ Description

Fuchsia ‘Dark Eyes’ is a vigorous trailing fuchsia with dark green leaves and abundant pendant flowers from early summer until autumn frost. Each bloom combines reflexed cerise-red sepals with a full, ruffled violet-blue corolla, creating strong colour in hanging baskets, window boxes and raised patio containers. Grow in partial shade or gentle sun in fertile compost that remains consistently moist but drains freely. Feed regularly during flowering and remove developing seed pods to encourage further buds. Shelter baskets from strong wind, which can damage the brittle stems and flowers. This cultivar is not reliably hardy outdoors in Ireland. Before severe frost, move plants into a cool, bright, frost-free place and reduce watering, or take cuttings in late summer to preserve the variety.
