Euonymus fortunei ‘Silverstone’ is a very compact evergreen spindle with a bushy, creeping to trailing habit. The tiny young leaves emerge predominantly cream or white before gradually developing speckles and patches of dark green as they mature. Its restrained growth suits rock gardens, alpine-style planting, border edging, troughs and mixed patio containers. It can also soften the edge of a raised bed without producing the vigorous stems associated with larger euonymus cultivars. Grow in full sun or partial shade in almost any moist but well-drained soil. It is hardy in Irish gardens and tolerates a range of soil reactions. Trim lightly if needed to maintain an even carpet and avoid allowing the roots to remain waterlogged. All parts are harmful if eaten.
