Euonymus fortunei ‘Silver Carpet’ Description

Euonymus fortunei ‘Silver Carpet’, also known as Euonymus fortunei ‘Heins Silver’, forms a compact creeping or trailing evergreen shrub. Narrow grey-green leaves have crisp white margins that may develop attractive pink tints during winter. Growing to around 25cm high and spreading approximately 60cm, it works well as ground cover, along raised bed edges, on banks or spilling from containers. It may also climb gently if planted against a wall or support. Grow in full sun or partial shade in almost any moist but well-drained soil. It is hardy and dependable in Irish gardens and tolerates coastal and urban conditions. Trim unwanted shoots during spring or summer and wear gloves, as all parts are harmful if eaten.
