Eucalyptus cinerea ‘Silver Dollar’ Description

Eucalyptus cinerea ‘Silver Dollar’ is an aromatic evergreen tree grown primarily for its rounded, powdery silver-blue juvenile foliage. The young leaves are widely used fresh or dried in floral arrangements, while unpruned plants gradually develop longer adult foliage and may become substantial trees. Grow in full sun in fertile, moist but well-drained neutral to acidic soil and shelter young specimens from cold drying winds. In Irish gardens, annual coppicing in early spring is often the most practical approach, producing a manageable shrub-like plant and plentiful decorative stems. Leave plants unpruned only where there is adequate space for their eventual height and spread. Avoid exposed frost pockets and prune during dry weather to reduce the risk of disease entering fresh cuts.
