Digitalis purpurea ‘Hanabee Pink’ Description

Digitalis purpurea ‘Hanabee Pink’ is a compact foxglove selection with smaller leaves, sturdy stems and an unusually dense flowering habit. Numerous soft pink tubular blooms are held outward along the upright spikes, creating a rounded bouquet-like effect rather than the loose outline of many traditional foxgloves. Mature plants reach approximately 60 to 90cm high and 30 to 45cm wide, fitting well into containers, smaller cottage borders and wildlife planting. Grow in full sun or partial shade in fertile soil that remains moist but drains freely. It is hardy in Ireland and the flowers are attractive to bees and bumblebees. Remove spent spikes to keep the plant tidy or allow seed to ripen. Every part is highly poisonous if eaten.
