Delphinium ‘Guardian Blue’ Description

Delphinium ‘Guardian Blue’ forms an upright clump of deeply divided green foliage topped by substantial spikes of true blue to blue-purple flowers in early summer. Growing approximately 90cm to 1.5 metres depending on conditions, it brings strong height and colour to mixed borders and produces excellent stems for cutting. Grow in full sun or light shade in deep, fertile soil that remains consistently moist but drains freely. Shelter it from strong Irish wind and heavy rain or provide support before the flower spikes become fully developed. Slugs and snails can damage emerging spring shoots, while all parts are harmful if eaten. Cut faded spikes back to flowering side shoots to encourage a smaller later display.
