× Cupressocyparis leylandii ‘Gold Rider’ Description

× Cupressocyparis leylandii ‘Gold Rider’ offers the speed and dense coverage of Leylandii with strong golden-yellow foliage. It develops into a narrowly conical evergreen tree, providing year-round structure, colour and privacy. Use it for tall boundary hedging, shelter belts or as an individual conifer in a large garden. It grows in full sun or partial shade and accepts most soils where drainage is good, including exposed and coastal positions. Left untrimmed, it can eventually exceed 12 metres in height and develop a substantial spread. Hedges should be clipped regularly during the growing season, taking care not to cut back into bare, leafless branches.
