Crinodendron hookerianum (Chile Lantern Tree) is an evergreen shrub with narrow green leaves and lantern-like crimson flowers that hang from the branches from late spring through summer. A medium to large plant with a bushy form, it has an exotic appearance that brightens sheltered spots. Recognised with the RHS Award of Garden Merit, it thrives in Irish gardens with acidic soil.
