Cornus controversa ‘Variegata’, known as the Wedding Cake Tree, is a striking small tree with strongly tiered branches and ovate leaves edged in cream. In early summer, clusters of cream flowers appear, later followed by black berries, while the leaves turn yellow in autumn. Recognised with the RHS Award of Garden Merit, it brings bold architectural form and seasonal colour to Irish gardens.
