Hornbeam 'Fastigiata'
I hold the RHS | Award of Garden Merit
Carpinus betulus ‘Fastigiata’ is an upright hornbeam with a narrow crown when young, gradually broadening into a dense ovoid tree with age. Bright green ribbed leaves turn yellow in autumn, while conspicuous fruiting catkins add later interest. Extremely hardy and tolerant of exposure, it is a strong architectural tree for large gardens and avenues.
