Brunnera macrophylla ‘Jack Frost’ is one of the most useful silver-foliaged perennials for shade, forming dense clumps of broad heart-shaped leaves overlaid in silver but clearly edged and veined in green. Clouds of small blue forget-me-not flowers appear in spring. It thrives in cool partial or full shade on humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil.
✅ Brilliant silver foliage gives a long season of interest
✅ Blue spring flowers brighten woodland-style planting
✅ Excellent ground cover beneath shrubs and trees
