Birch 'Fascination'
I hold the RHS | Award of Garden Merit
Betula ‘Fascination’, often sold as Betula albosinensis ‘Fascination’, is grown chiefly for its changing bark. Young trunks peel in deep orange before ageing to pale pink-white, while green leaves turn yellow in autumn and long catkins appear in spring. It becomes a large pyramidal tree, eventually exceeding 12m, so its winter bark is best enjoyed where there is generous space.
✅ Orange bark matures to pale pink-white
✅ Yellow autumn foliage and long spring catkins
⚠️ Eventually develops into a large, wide-spreading tree
(−20 to −15 °C) Very cold-hardy
