Berberis thunbergii ‘Orange Rocket’ (PBR) is an upright, deciduous shrub with spiny, dark red-brown stems and foliage that shifts from rusty orange in spring to fresh green in summer, before glowing orange-red in autumn. In April and May, small fragrant yellow flowers appear, later followed by bright red fruits that shine into autumn. A medium-sized shrub with a narrow, columnar habit, it is both wildlife friendly and attractive to pollinators, making it a fine choice for hedging or feature planting in Irish gardens.
