Aubrieta ‘Kitte Blue’ Description

Aubrieta ‘Kitte Blue’ is a compact, mat-forming evergreen perennial with small green leaves and relatively large blue-purple flowers, each marked by a small yellow eye. The spring display can almost hide the foliage and creates an attractive cascade over rocks, low walls and raised bed edges. Its low height of around 10cm also makes it suitable for alpine troughs, gravel planting and the front of sunny borders. Grow in full sun or partial shade in well-drained, neutral to alkaline soil. In wetter Irish gardens, avoid heavy ground and keep the crown slightly raised. Trim lightly after flowering to encourage a fresh, even carpet of foliage.
