Arum italicum is a tuberous perennial with glossy green arrow-shaped leaves veined in lighter shades. In late spring, pale greenish-yellow spathes enclose golden spadices, followed later by spikes of orange-red berries. Small to medium in size with an upright habit, it is generally disease-free and pest-free. A distinctive woodland plant that brightens shaded Irish corners.
