Armeria maritima ‘Abbey White’ Description

Armeria maritima ‘Abbey White’ forms a low evergreen cushion of narrow green leaves topped by rounded white flower heads during spring and early summer. Reaching approximately 15 to 25cm, it is ideal for border edges, rock gardens, alpine troughs, gravel planting and crevices between stones. The compact foliage remains tidy through much of the year and tolerates salt-laden winds, making it particularly useful in Irish coastal gardens. Grow in full sun in poor to moderately fertile soil with excellent drainage. Avoid heavy feeding and ground that remains wet during winter. Removing faded flowers can prolong the display and keeps the plant neat. Older clumps may be divided in spring if they begin to lose vigour.
