Arabis caucasica ‘Deep Rose’ Description

Arabis caucasica ‘Deep Rose’ is a low-growing evergreen perennial that spreads to form a dense mat of grey-green foliage. Clusters of rich rose-pink, four-petalled flowers appear in spring, creating a strong block of colour over walls, banks and rock gardens. Reaching around 15 to 20cm high, it can also be grown in alpine troughs or used to edge a sunny path. Grow in full sun in moderately fertile but sharply drained soil. Avoid waterlogged ground and heavy feeding, which can lead to weak, open growth. In wet Irish winters, planting on a slope or raised bed will help protect the crown. Trim back lightly after flowering to encourage a fresh, compact cushion.
