Anigozanthos ‘Red Inferno’ Description

Anigozanthos ‘Red Inferno’ forms a clump of narrow, strap-shaped evergreen leaves and produces upright stems topped with distinctive red, paw-like flowers. The tubular blooms are covered in fine hairs and open at their tips, creating an unusual display over a long period in warm conditions. Grow it in full sun in sharply drained soil or gritty compost, watering regularly during active growth but never allowing the roots to remain waterlogged. It is not reliably hardy outdoors through an Irish winter. Container-grown plants should be moved to a bright, frost-free position before cold weather arrives. Remove spent flower stems at the base and keep the crown relatively dry during winter.
