Anchusa ‘Feltham Pride’ Description

Anchusa ‘Feltham Pride’ produces an abundant display of rich gentian-blue flowers on branched, hairy stems rising to around 90cm. The blooms appear from late spring through summer above a basal clump of coarse, bristly leaves and are highly attractive to bees. It suits cottage borders, wildlife planting, gravel gardens and mixed schemes where a strong true-blue flower is wanted. Grow in full sun in fertile but freely draining soil and avoid winter waterlogging. The plant can be short-lived, particularly in damp ground, but cutting the flowering stems back promptly may encourage fresh basal growth. It will also self-seed where conditions suit it, helping maintain the display from year to year in Irish gardens.
