Alstroemeria ‘River Valley’ Description

Alstroemeria ‘River Valley’ is a compact Peruvian lily distinguished by lance-shaped dark green leaves finely edged in cream. From early summer into autumn, the foliage is joined by deep pink funnel-shaped flowers with dark red-brown flecks and a cream blotch near the centre. Reaching around 35cm, it works well at the front of a border, as low seasonal ground cover or in a patio container. Grow it in full sun or light shade in fertile soil that remains moist during active growth but drains freely in winter. Remove spent stems by pulling them from the base to encourage further flowers. A dry mulch helps protect established crowns during colder Irish winters.
