Alstroemeria ‘Beach Valley’ Description

Alstroemeria ‘Beach Valley’ forms a compact clump of leafy stems topped with large, elegant flowers in soft cream and champagne shades, warmed by yellow at the centre. It flowers over a remarkably long period, often from May into November when faded stems are removed regularly. At around 35 to 45cm high, it is easy to place near the front of a sunny border or in a generous patio pot. Grow it in fertile, moist but well-drained soil in a warm, sheltered position. Pull spent flowering stems cleanly from the base rather than cutting them halfway down, as this encourages fresh shoots. In Irish gardens, protect young plants with a dry winter mulch and avoid ground that remains waterlogged.
