Achillea ptarmica ‘the Pearl’ Description

Achillea ptarmica ‘the Pearl’ differs from the familiar flat-headed yarrows, carrying rounded, fully double white flowers in loose branching clusters. The blooms appear through summer on upright leafy stems above a spreading clump of dark green, finely cut foliage. Reaching approximately 60 to 90cm tall, it brings a light, informal effect to cottage borders, white planting schemes and cutting gardens. The flowers last well in a vase and can also be dried. Grow in sun or partial shade in fertile, moist but well-drained soil. It is more tolerant of moisture than many Achillea millefolium cultivars, although permanently waterlogged ground should still be avoided. Divide congested clumps periodically and remove faded stems to prolong flowering.
