Acer palmatum ‘Scolopendriifolium’ is an upright, twiggy Japanese maple distinguished by bright green leaves divided into seven long, narrow lobes. The foliage becomes darker green in summer before turning yellow in autumn, while the branches develop a slightly cascading quality with age. At roughly 3–5m tall, it also lends itself well to bonsai and container training.
