Acer palmatum ‘Osakazuki’ is best known for autumn colour, when its comparatively large green leaves turn a brilliant orange-scarlet. Forming a rounded large shrub or small tree around 2.5–4m high and wide, it has a stronger, more substantial presence than many delicate-leaved Japanese maples and works particularly well as a sheltered garden specimen.
