Abelia × grandiflora ‘Radiance’ Description

Abelia × grandiflora ‘Radiance’ is valued as much for its foliage as for its flowers. Glossy oval leaves have green centres and broad creamy margins, creating a clear contrast against the bright red young stems. Clusters of lightly scented, trumpet-shaped white flowers open from midsummer into autumn. Its low, mound-forming habit reaches approximately 1 metre high and 1 to 1.5 metres wide, making it useful near the front of a shrub border, as low informal hedging or in a large container. Plant in full sun and moist but well-drained soil, choosing a position with some protection from cold winds. It is semi-evergreen and may lose some foliage during a colder winter.
