Gaura lindheimeri ‘Geyser White’ Description

Gaura lindheimeri ‘Geyser White’, now classified as Oenothera lindheimeri ‘Geyser White’, is a compact, free-flowering perennial with narrow leaves and slender upright stems. Pure white butterfly-shaped flowers open in succession from late spring or early summer into autumn, producing a light display that combines easily with grasses and colourful perennials. Plants generally reach around 50 to 70cm high and suit patio pots, gravel planting and sunny border fronts. Grow in full sun in moderately fertile soil with excellent drainage. Avoid heavy feeding, which can encourage weak stems. It tolerates dry conditions after establishment but may fail in saturated Irish winter ground. Lightly trim after a main flush to encourage fresh buds and leave the basal growth uncut until spring.
