Leptospermum scoparium ‘Coral Candy’ Description

Leptospermum scoparium ‘Coral Candy’ is a compact evergreen tea tree producing numerous double flowers in warm coral-pink shades above small, aromatic green leaves. The dense twiggy habit provides year-round structure, while flowering is concentrated in late spring and early summer. Plants generally remain around 1 to 1.5 metres high and wide, depending on conditions. Grow in full sun in acidic to neutral soil with excellent drainage. Once established it copes well with dry summer conditions but is vulnerable to cold, waterlogged winter soil. In Ireland, choose a warm sheltered position, particularly away from severe inland frost. It can also be grown in a container where winter protection is easier. Prune lightly after flowering to maintain a compact framework.
