Lavatera × clementii ‘Blushing Bride’ Description

Lavatera × clementii ‘Blushing Bride’ is a fast-growing shrubby mallow with soft grey-green foliage and large open flowers in white to very pale pink, often flushed more strongly with rose around the centre. Blooming continues from early summer into autumn on fresh vigorous stems. Mature plants generally reach around 1.5 to 2 metres high and form a broad shrub. Grow in full sun in fertile, well-drained soil. Avoid positions that remain saturated through winter, and provide some shelter from strong winds that can snap the brittle stems. Severe frost may cause dieback in colder Irish gardens, but established plants often recover from healthy lower growth. Prune firmly in spring after the main frost risk, encouraging a fresh framework of new flowering shoots.
