Heuchera ‘Hip Hip Hooray’ Description

Heuchera ‘Hip Hip Hooray’ is a compact foliage perennial grown for its colourful, rounded leaves and tidy mounding habit. The foliage develops changing warm tones through the growing season, giving useful contrast beside green-leaved perennials and grasses. Fine branching stems of small bell-shaped flowers appear during summer and attract visiting insects. Plants generally remain around 25 to 35cm high in leaf and spread 35 to 45cm. Grow in partial shade or gentle sun in fertile, humus-rich soil that remains moisture-retentive but drains freely. Avoid allowing the crown to become buried beneath compost or mulch. It is hardy in Irish gardens but can suffer in prolonged winter saturation. Remove damaged foliage in spring and lift and reset older clumps if the crown becomes excessively raised.
