Hemerocallis ‘Moses Fire’ Description

Hemerocallis ‘Moses Fire’ is a distinctive double-flowered daylily producing large blooms in rich red to scarlet shades with warm golden-yellow throats. The extra petals create a fuller, ruffled appearance compared with traditional single daylilies. Flower stems rise above clumps of arching strap-like leaves during midsummer, with numerous buds opening in succession. Mature plants generally reach around 60 to 75cm high. Grow in full sun or light partial shade in fertile, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil. It is fully hardy and reliable in Irish gardens. Water during prolonged dry periods while buds are forming and remove faded flower stalks when blooming finishes. Divide established clumps every few years if they become crowded or flowering begins to decline.
