Echinacea ‘Meditation White’ Description

Echinacea ‘Meditation White’ forms a dense, compact clump with sturdy upright stems and rough green foliage. Numerous white daisy-like flowers, each centred by a large yellow-orange cone that deepens to orange-brown with age, appear from July into September. Mature plants generally reach 45 to 50cm high and 35 to 45cm wide, making this cultivar useful near border fronts and in substantial containers. Grow in full sun in fertile, humus-rich soil that drains freely. The flowers attract bees and butterflies and can be cut for arrangements. Deadhead to prolong flowering or retain the final cones for winter texture. In Ireland, avoid planting in heavy winter-wet ground, which can cause the crown to rot.
