Cornus canadensis
Dwarf Cornel
Cornus canadensis (Dwarf Cornel) is a creeping perennial forming mats of whorled green leaves topped in late spring with white bracts around tiny green flowers. These are followed by bright red berries that stand out against the foliage. Hardy and low-maintenance, it thrives in moist, acidic soil, making an excellent groundcover for shaded Irish gardens.
